About Dave Paek

A native New Yorker who grew up in Greenwich Village during the late 70’s and early 80’s.  His first camera was an old 35mm Nikkormat and he developed a fascination with B&W street photography early on in his childhood years. Raised by his single mother, also an artist, Dave grew up appreciating the arts. During his youth, he focused intensely on academics and athletics, receiving a full scholarship to Colgate. He moved closer to family and later transferred to New York University where he completed his double major honors in Economics and Political Science. He spent over 14 years on Wall Street and pivoted his career choice to pursue his calling as a photographer. When asked about the impact of this decision, “I never felt more alive since leaving and finding photography as my true calling. I love different genres of photography from Steve McCurry and David Alan Harvey to portrait photographers such as Richard Avedon and Dan Winters. Photography is my life.”

For the past decade, Dave dedicated tirelessly to building his business, honing his artistry, and deepening roots within his photography community. His passing in 2021 leaves a permanent mark on all our lives as we live a lasting memory of his big love for life and people.
