Mohonk Mountain House Wedding: Daphne and Gee

Daphne and Gee’s wedding day was filled with so much emotion and joy.  Their family flew in from as far as Singapore and Malaysia to be with them on their most special day.  The day started out in Daphne’s quintessential New York City apartment with Daphne and her bridesmaids getting ready while Skyping on an iPad with her family and friends in the Far East who were not able to be with her.  The day progressed with a Chinese wedding day tradition in which the groom had to bribe and charm his way through the bridesmaids to get to the bride for a first look.   After a few snaps at Central Park we hopped into a limo and made our way to the beautiful Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York. There were some new experiences for me along the way, this was the first wedding that involved me getting on a row boat with my camera just to get close enough to get the shot I wanted.

Many thanks to Stephen Tang for great assisting.

New York City Engagement Session

What an amazing afternoon I spent with both Megan and Sean yesterday!   Our goal was to shoot a few shots downtown and in Central Park and perhaps Megan and Sean would walk away with a photo for their “save-the-date” card.  The great thing about shooting engagements (and weddings) in New York City is that there are so many options – and sometimes I do get carried away.  We hit up neighborhoods such as SoHo, The Flatiron District, and Central Park – not to mention we got a few shots in the subway as well.  When I presented Megan and Sean the photos today (yes, all the photos today), I’m happy to say that I made their decision in choosing an image for their “save-the-date” card a little bit more difficult.  I’m really looking forward to documenting their wedding next year!  Many thanks to Stephen Tang who did a fantastic job assisting me with lighting.

Rosanne and Chris at Studio 450

Working with some of the nicest people on a beautiful autumn day made for an unforgettably fun wedding shoot at Studio 450.   Rosanne and Chris hired one of NYC’s best wedding photographers in Ryan Brenizer. I was one of Ryan’s assistant shooters along with world renowned documentary photographer/cinematographer Andre Lambertson (one of the nicest guys on the planet).  Speaking of really nice people, I also had a chance to meet cinematographers Alex and Nina Villegas.
