Maternity Portrait Session

Maternity Portrait Session:  Stephanie

There is no greater honor than photographing a client throughout some of the major milestones of their life.  Perhaps nothing says “We trust you” more than being asked to photograph their engagement session, wedding, and maternity session.  Stephanie has been that client for me.  To bring back some fond memories, we had a fun-filled engagement session in the Hamptons in May followed by an unforgettable wedding at City Winery in June of last year.  Now beautiful Stephanie is 30 weeks pregnant and she looks absolutely stunning!  We are so looking forward to meeting their new bundle of joy!

City Winery New York City Wedding

City Winery New York City Wedding:  Stephanie + Stephen

Both Stephanie and Stephen have been together for ten years and they finally got married on a beautiful Memorial Day weekend at the City Winery in New York City.  Stephanie and Stephen, both Manhattanites, had their engagement session a month earlier in East Hampton where they like spending their weekends.  You can often tell how special a couple is by how far their friends and family members are willing to travel to attend a wedding.  Indeed, Stephanie and Stephen had many friends and family members fly in from all around the world to take part in their celebration.

Stephanie and her bridesmaids got ready at the luxurious Trump SoHo Hotel and Spa in downtown Manhattan while Stephen and his groomsmen got ready at the City Winery.  Stephanie is enormously talented, she showed off her artistry and style in designing not only the Chuppah but also the floral backdrop, escort cards (each with the guest’s photo…who does that???), and candy station.  This bride can just about do it all –  look out wedding industry!

It was such a great honor to have been their wedding photographer!

Special thanks to my friend and enormously talented photographer Aaron Morris for being an amazing additional photographer and Ashley Peraino for coordinating the wedding.  Makeup artist:  Siobhan Uryevick

The RoundHouse New Year’s Eve Wedding

The RoundHouse New Year’s Eve Wedding:  Allison + Daniel

What an amazing year 2015 was!  Allison and Daniel’s wedding at The Roundhouse (Beacon Falls, NY) was my last wedding of 2015 and technically my first wedding of 2016.  This beautiful New York City couple met back when they were undergrads at Washington University.  They chose one of the best times of the year to get married which means they start an entire year as a married couple.  They also chose an absolutely stunning location in The Roundhouse in Beacon Falls, NY – complete with beautiful waterfalls and a gorgeous venue hall with high ceilings.  Recall that we shot a beautiful engagement session just a few weeks ago in Greenwich Village.  It was a real honor to be their wedding photographer and meet their wonderful friends and family – some of whom traveled from as far as Israel and Scotland to witness this beautiful couple’s union. It was an absolute joy to document every moment of their wedding day.  Mozel Tov to these two as they start the new year and their new lives together!

Special thanks to Kevin Ferguson for assisting and second shooting.

Greenwich Village Engagement Session: Allie and Daniel

Greenwich Village Engagement Session:  Allie and Daniel

Engagement sessions are much more popular during the spring and autumn months mostly because of weather conditions. So how blessed were we on a Sunday in December when temperatures hit north of 70 degrees Fahrenheit?  I had such a blast walking around Greenwich Village with both Allie, Daniel, and also their sweet dog Stella.  We shot some fun portraits in Washington Square Park, Astor Place, and in Union Square.  What I really loved about Allie and Daniel, is that they were open to doing just about any portrait that was unique and fun:  including going down into the subway station. This beautiful couple will be getting married on New Year’s Eve (how cools is that?!) and I’m so thrilled to be their wedding photographer.

Special thanks to my friend Brian Bolante!

The Loeb Boathouse Central Park Wedding: Rosemary + Stephane

The Loeb Boathouse Central Park Wedding:  Rosemary + Stephane

It couldn’t have been a more perfect day for Rosemary and Stephane’s wedding at The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park – it was a beautiful autumn day rich with amazing light and color.  These two tennis fanatics (more on that later) got ready in their apartment in Chinatown and then made their way up Central Park but first stopped at their favorite watering hole, Top Hops Beer Shop in SoHo, for a much needed glass of IPA.

Stephane and Rosemary met while taking a tennis class at the National Tennis Center. This was also where they shared their first date and where Stephane asked Rosemary to be his wife. On the day he proposed, Stephane scheduled an hour of tennis for the two of them. He hid the ring inside a tennis ball and midway through their session, asked Rosemary to open a new can of tennis balls. While opening the new can, she noticed there was no pop to it. She also noticed an old tennis ball marked with a black X. Rosemary was so focused on the fact that they would need to call the manufacturer because of these defects, but then looked further and found a small cut in the ball with the X, and upon further inspection, a small zip lock bag inside with what looked like a prize. She realized when she opened it that it was a ring and was stunned. Stephane got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, to which she of course, said yes!

The day finally came and they fulfilled their dreams of getting having their perfect wedding at The Loeb Boathouse.

Special thanks to Josh Lynn for a great job second shooting!
