Is it that obvious that these two are absolutely crazy about each other? Their wedding is well…next week! I’m already thinking about how intensely fun this wedding is going to be. The wedding will be right here in my neighborhood – practically in my backyard (not literally) in Long Island City at one of my favorite venues. Robin is originally from Brazil and Braden is originally from Detroit – both have family and friends from many different cultures and backgrounds. The wedding will be a culmination of color, music, and food.
Second shooting for me will be a very special friend and guest who has inspired me for quite some time – stay tuned!

Sally and Pradeep are getting married this summer and I’m so thrilled to be their wedding photographer! They wanted their engagement session in DUMBO, the tony area of Brooklyn where they shared lots of memories, especially their first date which was at Shake Shack. We were hoping for a warm spring day for this session, complete with some gorgeous evening light, but the weather in New York City this year hasn’t been exactly hospitable. The temperature plummeted, the winds started to picked up, and it started to rain. But you really wouldn’t know how cold it was from the portraits – well maybe until you see the very last frame which puts the tundra-like conditions into perspective. Kudos to these guys, especially Sally, who was such a trooper!
Update: A few more images were added from our second session which was under much improved weather conditions!

In my opinion, there’s no better way to start the New Year other than having a great time shooting an engagement session. This portrait session felt more like an editorial session with this beautiful couple. It was a perfect day to go from location to location as Manhattan was practically a ghost town the day after New Year’s Day. We hit some chic spots in Manhattan as well as some more obscure locations – hidden gems such as a parking garage decorated with graffiti and neon lights as well as a stairway hiding in plain sight replete with a red bench adorned with Thai etchings. With Jennifer and Jared’s wedding just around the corner, we had the opportunity to create some stylized portraits and also get them warmed up for their big day.

I am so looking forward to Megan and Sean’s wedding in July, so much so that we decided to do another engagement shoot just to get warmed up. We tore up downtown Manhattan starting with Chinatown where we took a few shots and enjoyed some Dim Sum together at Ping’s on Mott Street. Today’s beautiful harsh sunlight gave us ample opportunity to create some dramatic portraits using natural light.
We were blessed with beautiful weather for Jessica and Larry’s engagement shoot this past weekend – not a cloud in the sky which provided us with some epic lighting opportunities during the day portion of our engagement shoot but we conjured up our own lighting magic when the sun went down. I am so thrilled to be part of Jessica’s and Larry’s most special day come this autumn. You guys look gorgeous!

Can’t wait for the wedding
This was a Cold, Windy, rainy day; to top it off Sally decided of course to wear Flip Flops and a Jacket but the pictures are perfect and flawless.. I can only imagine what the wedding pictures will look like. Dave Paek, Sally Lee and me cannot thank you enough for being our photographer.
